TBF lance NerVFIX® !

When the umbilical cord is used to regenerate the hand's nerves !

TBF, bank of tissues and Groupe Lépine's subsidiary, has just received the authorisation from the ANSM (the National Agency for Medicines' Safety) to put on the market its last 100% French innovation NERVFIX®, an allogeneic conduit made of artery and vein from the umbilical cord which helps regenerating the hand's damaged nerves.

NerVFIX® is decellularized, freeze-dried and sterile made of allogeneic artery and vein from umbilical cord. It is authorized by the Paul-Ehrlich-Institute (the German competent authority) and authorized by the ANSM for interventions on peripheral nerves regeneration in 2 ways:
- as a conduit for a gap < 2 cm
- as a wrapping after the peripheral nerve is sutured

The NerVFIX® allogeneic conduit is composed of:
- on the outside : the vascular wall from the umbilical vessel turned inside out.
- on the inside : Wharton jelly, a gelatinous substance from the umbilical cord.

It doesn't collapse, the vascular wall being on the outside and the Wharton jelly on the inside.

It is flexible, can be cut and sutured.

It is delivered ready-to-use and can be stocked for 5 years at room temperature.

Its biological tubular structure boosts a fast axonal regrowth and oriented with remyelinisation (sensory and motor recovery as part of concept proof on animals). It is biocompatible and resorbable in 8 to 12 weeks (pre-clinical animal cases).

The NerVFIX® conduit is made of veins and artery from the umbilical cord, collected during birth labor in the strict respect of the Good Practices of Tissue collection and the Bioethical laws.

It is treated by the French Tissue Bank TBF according to the AMTRIX® production and safety procedure.
